“Start A War” - The National
Because even after five years, this song still tugs at our heartstrings. Because today is just a (the) National kind of day.

Tennis - “My Better Self”
Patrick Riley and Alaina Moore, also known as Tennis, are the coolest couple in the indie rock game. Originally from Denver, they spent one year traveling together on a boat before deciding to record music. Their track “My Better Self” is our favourite song off their album Young and Old, so we were thrilled when they released a video for it last week. One of our friends described it best via Facebook message: “OH MY GOD. Melancholic and self-aware lyrics coupled with an upbeat melody and a nice beat … usually does me.”
“Summerlong” - Xylos
And the 2012 summer jams just keep rolling in—most recently, this catchymccatcherson tuney tune from electro-pop band Xylos. Sun and warmth are a comin’, folks.

“The World Is Ours” - Catcall
We love pop in all its many shapes and sizes. We love its catchy hooks, predictable harmonies, girl bands, boy bands—its unbelievable (and admirable) pep. With that, we present Catcall. Get it, girl.

“Night” - School Of Seven Bells
We are alllll about the dreampop genre these days. School of Seven Bells has just released their third album Ghostory, and it just reminds us why we love the dreamy goodness so damn much. Soaring harmonies and a guitar riff TDF (to die for…). Honestly, we don’t need much more than this.

“Orifice Origami” - Reptar
Our favorite Georgian rugrats are back at it with their newest single, straight off of their soon-to-be-released album Body Faucet. Where do they come up with these names? Unclear, but we love. Random name and all, this tuney tune has the same summery feel-good “je ne sais quoi” as some of their other productions.
Ahoy there, Chuckie! Reptar in da house.

“Where Are Your People?” - We Have Band
I have band. You have band. We have band. Introducing our newest favorite from the UK indie rock lineup.

“Default” - Django Django
Need a Thursday pick-me-up? Look no further. British psychedelic band Django Django will help turn that workday frown upside down. Even their name makes us giggle a bit.

“Better Off” - Haim
To say that we’re kind of obsessed with Haim would be an understatement. Hailing from LA, sisters Este, Danielle, and Alana were influenced by their childhood spent rockin’ and rollin’ with Mama and Papa Haim (Partridge family, anyone?). And they’re awesome. “Better Off” showcases their vocal talent with an a cappella intro, which quickly transitions into a serious drum vibe…We haven’t wanted to jam out à la girl power this bad since watching the end of Bring It On. In other words: Haim is the poo, so take a big whiff.
