“Short Change Hero” - The Heavy

I watched ONE episode of Vampire Diaries once and this song was the best part. Oh. So you recognize it now? I KNEW you watched VD too…secret’s out.

This song was released years ago, but there’s really never a bad time to listen to these guys. A little bit funk, a little bit punk, and a whole lotta British hunk. Infuse your Friday with some sooooul.

In honor of Hardly Strictly this weekend, we bring you the Blind Boys of Alabama. First brought together in 1939 at what is now the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind, these guys have a whole lotta soul and have been singing their hearts out for 70+ years now.

“California Soul” -A.Skillz

It’s sunny, slightly breezy, 78 degree, no cloud in the sky-days like these that reassure my notion that San Francisco really is the best city in the world. Put a little soul in your cereal this morning and save a dance for your juicebox.

“Home” - Marc Broussard

It’s just one of those days. Interwebs are going crazy, and we’re just twiddling our thumbs waiting for Quora to get back online so we can ask someone what the hell one can do with a cooler filled with sausage n’ egg Coachella leftovers. Yup, just one of those days…Queue the Bayou soul. Take it home, Marc!
